Best Reggae Bands in the world past and current. Since the inception of Reggae music in the 1960s, bands have been around.

There are small bands with as just five members, and large Reggae band with up to twelve members.

What are some of the instruments that makes up a Reggae Band?

  • Keyboard Player (1 -2)
  • Bass Guitar Player
  • Guitar Player
  • Lead Singer
  • Back up singer  (2-6)


Some of the most world-renown Reggae Bands are:


The most popular Reggae Band of all times ever is Bob Marley and The Wailers. Two of the founding members of the Wailers are Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailers.

Back up singer included Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt. The Bass Player for the band was Aston "Family Man" Barrett.

Reggae artists Chronixx, Protoje, Jah9, Kabaka Pyramid and Jesse Royal started a Reggae music revival in 2013/2014.
