Top Dancehall Kings Since 1970s - Ever since the inception of Dancehall Music in the late 1970s, there some artists who always claimed to be the Kings.

There have been questions asked as who is the Real King of the Dancehall (answered here) and also who is the King of Dancehall Music in 2019?.

In this article, we are highlighting so of dancehall music's kings also known as Dancehall Kings.

The artists who have made our list is based on a few factors:

The first official King of Dancehall Music was Yellowman, he ruled from the early 1980s to late 1990s.

From then it was the self-proclaimed Beenie Man who was and is still king at the time of writing this article.

The 2000s saw the rise to fame of Vybz Kartel aka Worl Boss, he has been credited as the most lyrically potent dancehall artist every. 

This has led to some Dancehall music insiders calling for Beenie Man to passed the crown over to Kartel.
