I Octane "Positive Young Talent"
"New Artiste" I Octane is one of the most conscious young reggae artiste in the business today.
A son from the Parish of Clarendon Jamaica whose birth name is "Byiome Muir" which means "To Be strong".
Although I Octane is very well educated after excelling in the sciences at "Knox Community College" he decided to choose music as a career.
This high energy performer was well established in his community Sandy Bay from an early age for his positive lyrics and onstage performance.
In 2000, he was introduced to veteran producer Donovan Germaine of Penthouse Records by a friend.
He did some work for him releasing a number of singles of which the first two singles were "Oh Jah", and "Stepp A Seed".
Octane said he was motivated by artists such as Assassin, Beres Hammond and Buju Banton who were at that time workingunder the same Penthouse label but has since started their own.
Beres Hammond owns "Harmony House" and Buju Banton has"Gargamel's Music Label".
He has since toured places like Holland performing at their "Sundance Festival", many other Countries in Europe and most States in the US.
I-Octane said that on most of his tours he was surprised because of the overwhelming response he received while performing in most of these countries. While performing, most of his songs are sung word for word by patrons attending his concerts.
He then decided to sign up with "Arrows Recording Label" and this has since done wonders for his music career with some monster hitslike "Mama You Alone" which was a mega hit in USA, Canada and United Kingdom along with "Different Page".
In "2009-2010 he released to-date his biggest single "Lose a friend" which reaches #1 on most of the local dancehall and reggae charts and reggae charts across the world.
On my island Jamaica if you are to get a break (a buss as we say) it's really hard.
But as we sey "In life There Are Ups And Downs". He decided to end the contract with "Arrow Label" which lasted for little over (3) years.
Since then, his home was raided by police saying that they've received reports that he was involved in "Guns and Drugs", after the raid ended nothing was found.
I Octane then came on National TV saying in an interview that " A Set Dem A try Set up Mi Life, Because I don't Drink or Smoke".
He also encourage his fans not to worry because he will remain positive and keep doing positive music.
He's now a household name on the island and is regarded as one of the brightest young talent in the dancehall and reggae industry.
