Dancehall reggae singer I Octane is to release his debut album Crying To the Nation in October 2011.

He is also set to launch his website in Junly 2011.

In a release send to the media, he said the 14-track album is already completed and will be featuring original tracks, including a collaboration with Tarrus Riley, as well as favourites such as Lose A Friend, My Life and Study Yuh Friend. The tracks will see I-Octane's versatility as he diverts from his usual 'sound' and records to world beat and one-drop rhythms.

Executive producer Robert Livingston said in the release that the album is expected to create some big musical waves after its release. "It was a pleasure to work with Robert Livingston, his knowledge and insight I am sure will boost this product a great deal," said I-Octane. Crying to the Nation was original scheduled to be released in August of this year, but has now been pushed to October.

"We were late in getting the ads inserted in the international magazines, and we wanted to the promotion to coincide with its release," said manager Ray Alexander.

Alexander also stated negotiations with major labels were 90 per cent completed, so everything is expected to be in place when the album hit the streets.

one-stop shop

Adding their creative input to the upcoming project are top-of-the-line producers Jeremy Harding, Dean Fraser, Christopher Birch and Don Corleon.

I-Octane will also be launching his official website. "With the website, it will be all I-Octane all the time," the artiste joked. "It's really a one-stop shop for everything having to do with me and my career. This is the place where you can get the latest news and updates. All my songs, videos, press ... everything will be here."

The singjay is serious when he refers to his website as a one-stop shop as it will also be the only place that fans can buy exclusive I-Octane merchandise. However, he refuses to say too much at this point and simply states that fans will have to check out the site for more information.

The website will also be the only place that fans will have access to a weekly blog from the artiste. "I've made a promise to myself that anywhere mi deh in the world, mi haffi take some time out for the fans. Whatever is on my mind at the time is what I will blog about," I-Octane stated. "But if I'm tired, I may only write a few sentences, but no matter what, my fans will hear from me all the time."

Blitz web design has been commissioned to create the website which will be launched on July 7 at 8 p.m. and I-Octane fans worldwide can log on to www.ioctanemusic.com to view their artiste's latest venture.
