Ras Morgan Statement Letter - I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as Mr. Shawn Morais Morgan Performance name "Ras Morgan". 

The sole purpose of my music was written under the umbrella of three general sectors: to edify, enlighten, and to entertain; in which I try to achieve all three values in one song. 

I was born and raised in Kingston Jamaica, I was seeing to some as a city boy, especially to those of my own peers, and country acquaintances because I only visit the countryside of Manchester during the holiday when school is not in session and my mother takes me to visit my Grandparent that is, her parents for a week or two in the country. 

I have always had a burning love for the countryside of Jamaica. Hence, it has always great luck when I would get the opportunity to stay more than a week in country side of Manchester.

The advantage I have and the lesson that I have learned from growing up in Kingston Jamaica is a great asset to my music.

The lifestyle and the musical culture are the blueprint in which my Music is built on today.  I got the chance to see, first hand and to hear every day, many of the latest reggae music, coming out of Jamaica studio houses.

 In addition, as a child growing up in Kingston, Jamaica music can become your first language, or in some cases, it can even become your first word.

The music that I write is telling a story, and within this story, you should be able to fine; humor, a Statement of enlightenment and camouflage in entertainment.

One of the main reasons behind the creation of my music is the ability to talk to my brothers and sisters in faraway places, everyday, at any time, without having to physically be in their presence, and music gives me that power to connect and speak through their hearts and souls.

The six songs on my EP album is highlighted by one song called “take it easy”, I choose this song to represent and introduce me as a beginner in the music industry because of its roots rock reggae vibration and a story line with a very engaging ending.
