Acoustic Reggae Music

"The Soft Side of Dancehall and Reggae Music"

Acoustic Reggae music, what is this? This is music which is produce with primarily instruments, mostly the guitar.

This type of reggae music is not popular in Jamaica even though some of our top reggae artiste do perform this type of music.

Names that readly comes to minds are Bob Marley, Luciano, Fanton Mojah, Sizzla, Jah Cure and representing Canada is Mishka.

I think that Acoustic music is not popular with reggae music lovers because most reggae and dancehall lovers are accustom to the hard hitting bass-line and drums that are synonymous with reggae and dancehall music.

You might want to say, this music has a jazzy feeling towards it.

Presently, Jamaica does not have a band which plays Acoustic music only.

When were we doing the research for this article we came across a band by the name of "Speakah, this is a Dutch reggae acoustic band. After listening to some of their work we were so impressed that we had to make mention about them.
