What is the meaning of Bro Gad?


Bro Gad is a popular Jamaican dancehall street slang which was originated in 2018/2019 by upcoming dancehall artist Daddy1.


Daddy1 released the official single in October of 2019 to rave reviews. The official video has so far amassed over 790,000 views on popular music sharing platform Youtube.



Back to the original question "What is the meaning of Bro Gad?"

There are two meaning to this slang?

1. A "Bro Gad" is one who you called your real friend or someone who is down to earth.

2. The term "Bro Gad" can also be used to greet your friend. eg - What a Gwan Bro Gad?

The Bro Gad terms picked up tractions in Jamaica and the Jamaican Diaspora after prime minister Hon. Andrew Holness said is a Bro Gad. He had gone as far as changing his twitter handle to "BROGAD" for a couple of hours.
