Trap Dancehall Music is a new genre of music now blazing out of Jamaica. It became prominent in 2016 and was pushed to the forefront by Dancehall artiste Rygin.
One of the first Trap Dancehall song to make it big in Jamaica and the Caribbean was Rygin King's single titled "Learn" which was released in February of 2017 produced by Gcity & Prodigy Record.
Why is this music called Trap Dancehall, oh before I answer that question, Did you know that Rap & Hip Hop music got it to influence from Dancehall Music? Yes, they did.
The first major hip-hop deejay was DJ Kool Herc (Clive Campbell), an 18-year-old immigrant who introduced the huge Dancehall sound systems Culture of his native Jamaica to inner-city parties.
Trap Dancehall is the fusing of Hip-Hop back into Dancehall Music.
Jamaican Baker Steez who now resides in Florida was the first artiste who paired Hip-Hop and Dancehall beats together and called it Trap Dancehall.
Most of the younger upcoming dancehall artists from 2016/2017 are doing this kind of music and just like Reggae has sub-genre like Roots Rock, Lovers Rock and Dub, Dancehall Music now has its sub-genre "Trap Dancehall".

At first Dancehall music's legend Bounty Killer said this type of music was not going to live for long, but as time evolved and more artists are now doing this type of music.
Another name given to Trap Dancehall is Happy Music. Does Trap Dancehall Music have a future? According to Onstage TV presenter Winford Williams, Seems this genre of music is here to stay.
Bob Marley introduced Reggae music to the world, Baker Steez and Rygin King are the pioneers who introduced Trap Dancehall to the world.
