Recording Reggae artist Aaron Silk - Floyd Smith aka “Aaron Silk” was born on January 10, in a humble community called Downs in Manchester. A graduate of Holmwood Technical High School, Aaron majored in Electrical Engineering but music was always his first love.

Aaron’s Electrifying and commanding performance has seen him performing both locally and internationally. He has performed on shows such as Sumfest, Sting, Rebel Salute, Montréal Reggae Festival, Bob Marley Festival in Canada and LA, Irie Jamboree, Conscious Romaspalsh in Italy.

His musical career has also taken him on tour in 52 states of the United States of America with the likes of great artists such as Freddie McGregor, Bengy Myaz and Glen Washington.

Aaron is now set to release new singles from his upcoming album, not yet titled to be release in late 2012.

Aaron’s possibilities for greatness is unquestionable, he continues to work hard to achieve the highest level in his career.

Prophecies of Garnet Silk

His voice is mesmerizing. It was evident from age 12 that Aaron Silk’s Voice would be his passport to Fame. Surrounded by music from early it was only natural that his audiences were riveted when he began singing professionally at the age of twelve. 

His first single “Show I the Way” was written by Aaron and his brother and partner in talent, Garnet. It was recorded and released in 1995.

Since then Aaron has worked with several established Jamaican Reggae producers such as Penthouse Recordings, Black Scorpio Recordings, Mixing Lab, Sly & Robbie, and most recently Moses Production, Fateyes Records, just to name a few.

He is best known for his song, Right Path, which held the number one position in Trinidad, Canada and Bermuda a few years ago.

Aaron’s first album was released in 2000, and produced by Mikey Chung for Culture Shock Records Co. Ltd. Bless I Oh Jah contains 13 tracks and is ‘livicated’ to his brother Garnet Silk. It received much musical acclaim when it debuted and continues perform well.

Aaron’s Electrifying and commanding performances have seen him performing both locally and internationally. He has performed on shows such as the Internationally Acclaimed Reggae Festival Reggae Sumfest, the greatest One Night Reggae show Sting, Rebel Salute, Montréal Reggae Festival, Bob Marley Festival in Canada and LA, Irie Jamboree, Conscious Romaspalsh in Italy. 

His musical career has also taken him on tour in 50 states of the United States of America with the likes of Reggae Greats such as Freddie McGregor, Benjy Myaz and Glen Washington. In January 2013, he collaborated with popular Jamaican producer, Kemar “Flava” McGregor to produce a new release “Oh Me Oh My” on Flava’s 80’s Rock Riddim compilation cd. The release is doing very well on local and international radio stations as well as receiving attention via social media channels.

Aaron is now set to release new singles from his upcoming album which is anticipated to be completed in 2013. Despite a demanding schedule for his album production, Aaron has also taken the time to give back to Jamaica by joining with 30 other Jamaican artistes to raise awareness on climate change and its impacts for small islands under a project called “Voices for Climate Change Education.” This sees him going on tour in communities and schools across Jamaica to share climate and environment messages.

Aaron is a singer, songwriter and a soulful artist with words of inspiration, motivation and love for life and all that it has to offer. Ambitious and hardworking his aptitude for greatness is unquestionable and there is little doubt that he is on track for a stellar musical career.
