Macka Diamond, Pretty Don's 'Hardcore Love' buzzing
There has been a buzz around the collaborative single Hardcore Love, with dancehall star Macka Diamond and Miami-based rookie deejay Pretty Don.
No stranger to controversy, Macka Diamond runs the risk of provoking Christians with the line: "Beat up mi body like The Passion of Christ".
"Some of my fans have been saying I didn't have to use a religious metaphor when talking about sex, but that is what artistes do, we challenge conventions and express ourselves differently," she said.
Pretty Don has focused on music since being federally incarcerated for three years. This rookie's energetic flow and cunning metaphors have made the song one of the fastest-rising songs on local FM radio.
"So many people give mi dem back! If I was a chiropractor, I would be da richest," he said jokingly.
He said music was his only escape while he was incarcerated, so he decided to use his talent and transform his setback into a comeback.
After success in partnership and promotions in strip clubs such as KOD and Diamonds, Pretty Don said he lived lavishly. He said he drove the finest cars and lived with attractive women.
"When you listen to Pretty Don, you get a real piece of me and not some guy imaging some lie fi sing," said Pretty Don, who grew up in Trench Town.
