KY-Enie Releases Land of my Birth

Things are looking up for singer Ky-enie. The talented artiste has released the single Land of My Birth which was produced by Andre 'Dre-tegs' Hawthorne. The single is already creating a buzz on FM radio and the singer is quite upbeat about its progress.

'The whole inspiration and vibration for Land Of My Birth came about from talks in the streets that I am not Jamaican so I set out with the intention to write a song to state my identity, my nationality, my birth place, and at the same time represent for the cultivation of the herbs, (the healing of the nation) cause it is substantial as the food we eat and I also wanted something that was out of the box in the sense of being a little more up tempo from my regular love songs and meditational style of music I make and I feel I've captured that essence with Land Of My Birth, we call it the herbal festival song of independence', Ky-enie said in a media release.

Ky-enie wrote the song about two years ago. Since returning from a promotional jaunt in Europe, he linked with Hawthorne for a live album and the song was thrown into the mix.

'The song was written myself about two years ago for a separate project but it was not released due to some complications on the producer's side, so that project was cancelled. I recently teamed up with Andre for a live album I'm working on
and the chemistry is something one would describe as dynamic, not only on this Land Of My Birth but all the tracks we worked on thus far truly highlights the direction I always wanted to take my music', said Ky-enie.

With strong support so far from radio stations locally including Irie FM, Hitz 92 FM and others, the promotion of the song has been amped up.

'I recently did an interview with Rodrick Howell on Hitz 92 Fm and he said that I have the kind of music that makes a disc jockey's job easy because the music is so refreshing', Ky-enie confided.

An accompanying video was recently shot in Jamaica and directed by Dario Magix.

Ky-enie recently completed a promo run in Jamaica where he did interviews with media houses, gave out promotional material, and promoted his latest EP Ghetto Dream.

'I am truly impressed with the reaction we getting this far as this being the first time I really got a chance to do some leg work in my home land and I plan to keep the momentum growing with the support on my team Globalistic Muzik, D.N.A Management Group and Donsome Records as well as the disc jockeys in the dances and on the radio who have been supporting the project', he explained.

Some of Ky-enie's upcoming performances include the Groovin in the Park concert on June 29 in New York; July 5 in Philadelphia; August 9 (Westside Reggae Fest in Connecticut); and September 19 in Florida.
