Dancehall artiste Dane Hype Biography

The artiste, who hails from Montego Bay, aims to become an established reggae and dancehall artiste, in Jamaica and internationally.

Currently, he is focused on building his career in Jamaica and has done a number of singles in his quest to become recognized in the industry.

Sheldon was born on August 10, 1990 at the Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay, St. James.

He was raised in John’s Hall, in South Central St. James. He attended the Springmount Basic School. His family later moved to Granville (Retirement Area).

He enrolled at the Barracks Road Primary School, in Montego Bay, and then the Anchovy High School, located in Southern St. James.

It was while attending Anchovy High School, in 2007 that he started doing music. He would perform at various events in his community from time to time as well as at school.

He was part of the group ‘Hype Brothers’ and was named ‘Dane Hype’. He has decided to maintain ‘Dane Hype’ as his professional stage name. He has always admired the work of Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killa, Jah Cure, Sizzla,  and Movado.

In 2008, Sheldon decided to become a professional artiste. Since then, he has performed at various entertainment events throughout the length and breadth of Jamaica.

Sheldon has also worked with a number of producers – locally and overseas; among them - Victory One Production, Collaboration Records and Promuzik Production.

Dane Hype has been working consistently throughout the Island of Jamaica on various stage shows an parties over the years, in 2013 he made his way on Montego bay jerk festival where he made a very impressive proformance that had the fans requesting his presence on stage after his departure, still continuing on his musical journey Dane Hype recorded with various other Record Label over the years, constantly getting radio play an interviews on local an international radio stations.

In 2015 he started doing some work with an International Based Company called African Empire but was officially signed to them in 2016, along with another company Rockerz Global Alliance which is local an International, both entities are currently managing an developing him.

In October of 2016 he was invited at the 35 Anniversary of the INTERNATIONAL REGGAE AND WORLD MUSIC (IRAWMA) AWARDS in FT LAUDERDAL, FLORIDA.

A proud father of a son and daughter, Sheldon is determined to make it big in the music business. He attributes his motivation to children and his parents who have never stopped believing in him.

Sheldon ‘Dane Hype’ Whyte pledges to remains focused and dedicated and is willing to continue working hard to achieve his dream of becoming one of Jamaica’s best recording artistes.
