Western Jamaica's Top Djs representing Westmoreland, Trelawny, St James & Lucea

Western Jamaica top DJs, these djs are presently the hottest on the western side of the island.

As the DJ game change some DJs remain the same. As I sit here writing this article, I remembered the days when top sound systems such as Silver Hawk, Metro Media, Body Guard, Pieces, Electro Force, Rock Star, Kilamanjaro and Travellers to to name a few, use to rule the dance halls in the early to late 1990s.

I was living in the parish of Westmoreland at that time. Now fast-forward to the 2000s.

As sound systems die a slow death, this led to the birth of DJs aka Disc Jocks.

This article is to highlights the top Djs in the Parishes of St James, Westmoreland, Trelawny and Lucea.

Below is a list of the top djs along with a little Bio on them!

[DJ Kentucky] - Based in the parish of St James, he is consider by many to be the top Dj in the parish.

He is well know for his tight mixing and top notch selection. He is defenitely a Dj for your party and fuctions.

[Trophy Sniper] - He is not only a DJ/Selector, Sniper is also a promoter, Producer and recording artiste. He's also the personal DJ for dancehall recording artiste I Octane.

He got the name Trophy Sniper after defeating a number of Djs/Selector at a weekly held Wednesday night party in Montego Bay for which he won a Trophy for his effort.

[Crazy Chris] - Chris as he is also called, started out playing on his uncle sound system 'City West' but later moved on to one of Mobay's top sound system Pure Playazz. Although he is still a part of the Playazz team he also have a solo career.

He too is a promoter and is well known for the weekly held Exact Mondayz.

[Macky & Gemini] -These two are definately the best of both world, representing Westmoreland and Lucea. These duo is always booked for the annual spring Break festival which is held in the resort town of Negril.

If its juggling for the ladies or hardcore sound clash, call them and they are ready.

[DJ Carson] - Representing the country side as his tagline says (County a Our Place).

Carson will rock your party and if its clashing against another sound, just say the word.

Before starting his solo career he was a member of the King Courage Sound system and The Rockstar sound System.

[Crazy Neil] - As the name states, He is really crazy, representing Montego Bay, he is best known for the upper class parties and thus he is call the uptown selector.

He is one for all your corporate events.

[DJ Tippy, Young Talent] - The youngest of the lot, but consider to be the most talented. Before persuing his solo career, he was a member of the Krazy Dawg sound System. Tippy learned the busniess very fast and this has led to him been one of the top DJs.

[Kwaku Vybz] - Radio personality at Linkz FM and also a very hardcore dancehall selector.

Kwaku is best known for his clashing skills and his arsenal of dubplates from all of the top dancehall and Reggae music artiste. He is not one to mess around with.

[TC-Insomniak] - He is like the silent killer, always around by not seen. TC started out playing on one of Western Jamaica top and veteran sound system Pieces, But later moved on to start his own system call 'Insomniak'.

He is well know in Montego Bay for what was the weekly sunday evening/night party call 'Carwash Sundayz'.

[Party Crushers] - Representing Westmoreland, these two young talented djs, broke unto the scence about three years ago and are still going strong. As their name state, they will rock your party.

[DJ Mapp Head] - Represent the parish of Trelawny, Mapp head is one of the best to come out of that parish. He's is best known for his hardcore juggling and the ladies loved him.
