ZJ Dymond on verge of another Int'l breakthrough
Zip jock ZJ Dymond is beaming with pride after one of his productions, Vybz Kartel's Pretty Poison, which was released on his Promiscuous rhythm, was named Dancehall Song of the Year at the Music Industry Achievers Awards last week.
The ZJ/producer, who is the CEO of Full Chaarge Records, was very appreciative of the awards as he believes his work in the entertainment industry is beginning to be recognised.
"I feel so humbled and blessed, this is my first award so I feel good, well appreciated," said ZJ Dymond, real name Kerishma Davis.
The ZJ and the rhythm gained international recognition and caused a stir on social media when a video was posted showing international R&B star Rihanna and friends dancing and enjoying themselves to the Pretty Poison song.
"This showed that the song not only reached the local market but was recognised on the international scene as well," the producer said.
Now ZJ Dymond is on the verge of another international breakthrough with his latest rhythm, the Ghetto Bible. The new rhythm has been creating a surge overseas, especially since dancehall star Mavado, who is signed to DJ Khaled's We The Best Music label, said in a recent interview on the Breakfast Club, that his song of the same name on the rhythm, has been receiving rave reviews.
A few days later, DJ Khaled posted a video on his Instagram page, vybing to Mavado's Ghetto Bible single.
"Again this shows that hard-work and dedication to the craft is key, no gimmicks just strictly loyalty to the music, and the results will come," added ZJ Dymond, who is working on new projects to be released this summer.
