Which Reggae artist Ruled the 1990s

Which Reggae artist Ruled the 1990s? This is another superb question asked by one of our valued visitors.

If you were born in the 1960s, 70s or even the 1980s you would by now appreciate that the 1990s are the best years in Jamaica's music.

The 1990s saw the rise of many dancehall and Reggae music superstars, but some stand out.

Some of the great Reggae artists from the 1990s are:

Bounty Killer
Beenie Man
Sean Paul
Shabba Ranks
Ninja Man
Lady Saw
Mr Vegas
Mad Cobra
Wayne Wonder
Shaggy
And the king of lovers rock Mr. Beres Hammond.

Back to the original question "Which Reggae artist Ruled the 1990s", In our opinion that artist is Buju Banton.

Buju Banton still has the record for most songs in any Reggae top ten going back to the 1990s after he released his Mr Mention album in 1992.

Almost all song from Mr Mention album charted. At one point Buju dominated the charts with the first 8 songs all his.
