What Time Should Dancehall & Reggae Events be turned off?

What Time Should Dancehall & Reggae Event be turned off? This is another question which was asked by one of our valued visitors.

Dancehall and Reggae music party promoters and Sound System operators are now feeling the pinch as law enforcement officers are clamping down on their parties citing the Noise Abatement Act.

As per the Noise Abatement Act, in Jamaica, all parties/dances should end at Midnight during the week and 2 am on weekends.

But promoters of events in Jamaica are saying that the time allowed is not adequate. They are now asking for the Act to be revised.

We must take into consideration persons who have to get enough sleep to wake early for work and also students.

We are asking you our valued Dancehall and Reggae music fans, What time do you think is best for functions to be concluded?

The time which most promoters and Sound system operators are saying will be adequate is 2 am on weekdays and 4 pm on the weekend.

What do you think? We would love to get your feedback on this very important issue as this seems like a fight against dancehall and Reggae music in Jamaica.

Music parties NEW
by: Terryl Mairs

As the music parties have no conscience about persons who have families and/or jobs and getting louder as the time approaches 10 pm and they don't care to stop the screaming alongside the loud music they need to start the sound coming down to localise the party from 10 pm to 12 on weekends and then off. For weekdays sound must come down a @ 8 pm and be off by 10 pm. If there is a professional music venue the sound should be off at 2 am on weekends and midnight on weekdays.
