Voice Contestant Anita Will Not Be in Jamaica December 3rd, Gears Up for WildCard Round

U.S.A, Jamaica (MPR Consulting) - It has been brought up to the attention of Anita Antoinette's team that the singer was named and advertised as a special guest performer alongside The Voice winner Tessanne Chin for the KSAC annual tree lighting ceremony and concert scheduled on Wednesday December 3rd in Kingston, Jamaica.

Representative for the artist stated that they were unaware of the source of this information, as it was never arranged, or confirmed by her management team. "Although Anita would love to be a part of this event, she will be in Los Angeles gearing up for the wild card round of The Voice. She wants to assure her fans that she will soon make it to her beloved island"

It has been an exhilarating whirlwind for Jamaican born Voice contestant Anita Antoinette. Gaining popularity for her distinctive sound, the songstress made it to the top 10 of the popular NBC reality show after a disappointing first attempt.

Last week after a very successful run she fell into the bottom 3 and was subsequently sent home. This soulful soul is set to return to LA for next weeks 'Wild Card' round in which she will again get a chance to wow 'The Voice' judges and audience. Host Carson Daly revealed that for the first time ever, each of the eliminated top twelve contestants will receive another opportunity to compete in the live finale.

Per Daly, every Top 12 contestant eliminated prior to the top three round will be invited back for a wildcard competition. The winner of that wildcard slot will get to compete alongside the top three in the annual “Voice” finale. The news simultaneously brings intrigue and the promise of a potential reprieve for anyone victimized by a shock elimination. We spoke with Anita about her return to the show and she said "I am excited to have another shot at showing the world who I am, to hear my voice. Win or lose I am forever grateful to have had this opportunity and look forward to what the future holds."

Singer-songwriter Anita Antoinette creates insightful, passionate melodies that combine the soulfulness of her Jamaican roots with a profound understanding of the world we inhabit. A riveting, inspirational performer, she shares passion and intensity with audiences large and small. Her stirring original compositions offer a unique take on the reggae tradition, incorporating elements of jazz, blues, funk and soul to create a musical hybrid that races the mind and lifts the spirit.

Daughter of reggae icon Clinton Fearon, Anita grew up dancing to the rhythm of her father’s songs in Kingston, Jamaica. She came to the United States in 1996, where she settled first in South Boston and then New Britain, Connecticut with her mother, brothers, and sister. A self-taught singer and guitarist, Anita began writing her own music as a teenager, inspired both by her father and by other legends such as Bob Marley, India.Arie and Erykah Badu. She graduated from the prestigious Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts in 2008, and was accepted to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Professional Music: Concentration in Music Business and Songwriter.
