SUSPECT REPORTEDLY ARRESTED IN MERITAL GROUP MEMBER FATAL SHOOTING


A man who is believed to be of assistance to the investigation into the shooting death of Merital group member Corey Merital has been arrested by Police.


32 year old Derrick 'Corey' Edwards was shot and killed on Thursday night by unknown assailants as he approached his car in Ironshore, St James.

According to the Corporate Communication Unit -CCU-, no charges have been laid against the suspect who was picked up on the weekend and investigations are ongoing.

The late artiste, as well as Noel 'Blade Skeemaz' Mason and Trovoy Keneale Bracket comprised the group Merital Family.

The group rose to fame as part of Vybz Kartel's Portmore Empire with the 2010 single My Money Ha Ha.

Their other tracks include Pray and When We Party.
