Reggae Singer Peter Tosh's Mother Alvera Coke Dies At 96

The mother of legendary entertainer Peter Tosh has died.

Alvera Coke who was ailing for some time died in Westmoreland on Sunday at the age of 96. Peter Tosh’s son Dave Tosh tells Music News that despite the many ailments, his grandmother was a fighter until the very end.

Peter Tosh who died on September 11, 1987 was the only child for his mother Alvera Coke.

At the time of her death, Miss Coke had a fractured hip, diabetes and hypertension.
