“After 23 years we kept working incessantly on our musical careers and never gave up on our dream. We take very seriously the fact that we record and perform reggae music, which is the national music of Jamaica. We handle it with much responsibility and respect.

We give God Almighty all the glory and publicly give thanks to all the Jamaican Reggae and Ska artists that have influenced our musical palette. Being recognized at this international level in the midst of established artists, producers and legends of Caribbean gospel music such as Monty G, Nigel Lewis, Positive, Sherwin Gardner, Neesha Woods Kevin Downswell, Romain Virgo, Minister Marion Hall, Jermaine Edwards, Wayne Stoddart, Eunice Callwood, Toyin Adekale, Reuel Lynch etc. made the wait worthwhile” The Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards was launched on March 16, 1996, by recording artist, radio personality, media executive and Pastor, Kevin Harris.

The vision of the Marlin Awards is to inspire, recognize and foster excellence and growth in Caribbean gospel music. La Red, formerly known as Filosofia are considered one of the pioneers of Spanish reggae in Puerto Rico. Musical hits such as "Romance Natural", "Fantasía", "Perfecto Amor" and "Sustancia" have reached the top of the charts in several Latin American countries such as Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and in the USA (California)
