Red Fox doubles on Love Breeze

New York-based dancehall artiste Red Fox is on a musical high these days. The Jamaica-born entertainer has been making waves with songs on the Love Breeze rhythm, namely 'Gal Settings' and 'Our Love'.


Produced by DJ Xplicit, the rhythm, released earlier this year, is laden with hit songs from a number of acts including Gyptian, Laza Morgan, Guyanese singer Timeka Marshall, Screechy Dan and Shifta among others.

"Well Gal Settings is basically talking about flossing and buying drinks and having fun with a whole bunch of women. It's a hard-core dancehall song, which describes some of the dance moves that the girls are doing in the dancehall today," Red Fox said. Our love is more of a pop reggae song with the beautiful Samira who is also featured on Shaggy's album Out of Many One Music. It's a nice love song that basically talks about the bond between a man and a woman. Regardless of what a couple is going through love keeps them together."

Underground hit

Born Gareth Shelton in St Andrew, he attended St Catherine High before migrating to Brooklyn, New York. He made his debut with songs including Come Boogie Down and Down In Jamaica. One of his songs, Pose Off Inna Yuh, was a major underground hit and in the clubs.

He has released albums including As a Matter of Fox and Face the Fox. His forthcoming album is being produced by Musical Masquerade.

"I have a single coming out produced by Musical Masquerade called IfYou Love Reggae, so fans can look out for that. The video was directed by Anju Val and it will be released shortly," said Fox.

Another single, Skylarking, featuring Screechy Dan, is number four on the South Florida reggae chart.
