Ras Marvellous works with Stashment Records
Stashment Records is now working with United States-based reggae act Ras Marvellous for the promotion of his recently released single, 'Kendal Crash'.
The relatively controversial record was produced by Ulwazi Entertainment/Bunfire Entertainment and speaks of sexual intimacy, maturity and freedom.
"This concept is deep and real because love is real. This is one song that every audience can relate to and the lyrics are very catchy. It is already doing well and is expected to get better in the coming months," Ras Marvellous explained.
Ras Marvellous, born Llewllyn Matthews, is no stranger to the reggae industry and has a career that spans over 15 years. In 2010, he released his first album, Fire. The 10-track collection featured singles, Cha Cha Cha and Make Me Cry.
"My music is always conscious and realistic, and the aim is to always get that message circulated throughout the world. This is not always about the financial gain, but when we can teach or have an impact on at least one individual that is always a blessing," he said.
The musician spent his formative years in Tower Hill, St Andrew, but later migrated to the United States. He is currently working on his second album.
According to Stashment records, which has produced hits like QQ's One Drop, among others, working with a veteran artiste can be very productive.
"We have been working with mostly young acts like QQ and some other popular names, but we believe in this artiste. He is not about the hype, and he wants to contribute to the music industry. Some of the young people are just about the hype and we just want to work and put out some decent music," Stasha of the label said.
A music video for Kendal Crash will be released in coming weeks.
