Raine Seville Mad Dem Video gets MTV Nod


Just days after its release, Raine Seville has been receiving overwhelming support for her song and music video Mad Dem, the latest being the renowned international music channel MTV Base.


The song was produced by JRK Productions while the video was directed by DiRawtidYute and was released on September 14.

Since then, the former Wolmerian has been receiving great positive feedback from her friends, family and fans.

The singjay, real name Lorraine Seville, got an email from MTV Base rep Randy saying; "We couldn't help it seeing your video on YouTube with such creativity denied international exposure. It is doing extremely well in Europe."

General entertainment

She was also asked to provide them with video drops as they are inclined to use them when playing her music video.

MTV Base is a 24-hour music and general entertainment channel from Viacom International Media Networks Europe. The channel focuses primarily on music from the world of R&B, reggae, soul and urban.

The MTV Base brand first launched in the United Kingdom and in Ireland on July 1, 1999, later launching in other European territories such as The Netherlands and Germany.

African continent

MTV Base Africa was also launched in February 2005 throughout the African continent and MTV Base in French-speaking territories launched on December 21, 2007. MTV Base began broadcasting in widescreen on March 28, 2012.

For Raine Seville, this serves as a timely gesture.

"I am very excited about this because I put a lot of work into this song and music video. The supports have been tremendous to date and it is a testament to how far I have come in my music career over the past year or so. Their (MTV Base) reaching out to me is another terrific indication that I am doing quality work, so it is just up to me to keep getting better with every effort," she said.
