One Third from a strong showing at the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, vocal trio is upbeat about their fortunes for 2013.
The group performed on the talent segment of the annual event, but member Miguel Walters says not being on the main bill mattered little.
"We didn't care if it was the small stage, or the gate ... we got to show what we could do," he told the Jamaica Observer.
One Third, which also includes Alpheus Johnson and Adrian Campbell, was out of the spotlight for a while, but the group said they were still active musically.
"We had to go back, take time and rebuild. We never went anywhere, we were still doing music and performing on a small scale," said Walters.
Since December, the group has been managed by entertainment lawyer Ewan Simpson. They are working on songs with producers Paul 'Computer Paul' Henton and Lee Francis.
Closer We Get and Reggae Soul are two of the songs expected to be released soon.
One Third won the Digicel Rising Star competition in 2006. They followed-up with covers of Berlin's Take My Breath Away and Foreigner's I Wanna Know What Love Is.
