Nesbeth Ventures Into Music Production & Finds Success With ‘My Dream’

While many artiste strive to have a successful recording career not everyone is content in such a solitary role and multifaceted entertainer Nesbeth is making that very clear with his latest venture.

The Reggae stalwart in recent times has been expanding his musical portfolio not only as a performer and songwriter but also a producer. Though unknown to most the Rastafarian crooner has been dabbling into production and is credited with the composition of ‘Hundu Lay Lay’ and ‘Marijuana’, two of the many tracks on his current EP ‘Victory’ being distributed by Zojak Worldwide.

However, it’s his latest effort ‘My Dream’ that has been attracting a lot of industry attention causing many to ask. Who is responsible for the production? The catchy yet thought provoking composition has been getting some solid rotation on the dancehall circuit, including the recently held Guinness Sounds of Greatness competition in May Pen, Clarendon and continues to steadily infiltrate the FM airwaves across the diaspora. Based on current trends the song is poised to become another bonafide hit following in the footsteps of predecessors such as ‘So Let It Be’ and ‘Board House’.

After premiering last Thursday on BBC 1Xtra with Seani B the ‘Entertainment Soul’ produced single has seen a significant spike in spins via that market, a trend Nesbeth hopes will expand to the wider Europe.

According to Nesbeth, “This is the first single I’ve released since returning from Europe and therefore we
want to make sure everything is done properly. Production is something I have always enjoyed, not many know me in such a capacity but I like to be involved is all aspects to the creation of the music, so venturing into production is only fitting.”

When quizzed about the inspiration and feedback on ‘My Dream’ the singer further stated, “Firstly I have to say a big thank you to everyone who has been instrumental in supporting this project. The song "My Dream" is about the manifestation of one's thoughts; dreams; goal and aspirations___ in other words the vibration that you send out is what you receive. In the song I speak of things that is happening and things to be, whilst it's important to have a dream it's more important to live the dream.”

Alluding to the creative process Nesbeth added, “Dream Rhythm is a fusion of Ethnic music and Reggae.... Reggae is evolving so I enjoy experimenting same as I have experimented with the ‘Marijuana’ track from my current EP ‘VICTORY’ encompassing Rock influences with Reggae.”

Meanwhile, following a four year hiatus the singer recently received clearance from the U.S Embassy after he was granted a three year work permits for that country. Though not his first time on U.S soil Nesbeth says he is very pleased with the admission noting that the U.S is a very important market for entertainers across the globe to ply their trade amidst brand building.
