Merciless's 'Serious' on Spanish Guitar rhythm
Ocho Rios-based record label KJ Records has released a new Spanish Guitar rhythm, which music critics have hailed as one of the best new compilations to have emerged on the music scene this year.
The rhythm sees the return of 'War Head' deejay Merciless from Clarendon. Known for his brilliant social commentary on songs such as Letter and Reply To The Letter, he delivers Serious with the same great wit. The single chronicles his time in the US, his incarceration and subsequent deportation in a very witty, humorous and insightful manner. When listening to the song you know it's classic Merciless, but you can also hear his anguish at the state of Jamaica.
"I had taken a break to spend time with my son and I have been working in the studio, and this song addresses some things that have been on my mind," Merciless said.
The song is available on iTunes and can also be seen on YouTube.
Other standout songs on the rhythm include Ras Myrdhak's Treasure Box,where the deejay shows the form that made him one of the most widely regarded deejays in the early 2000s. Ras Myrdhak's high-energy delivery and powerful lyrics make this rhythm a must-listen for dancehall fans.
Red-hot rookie Bettadayze also shows why he is one of the new exciting voices in reggae music with the single, No More. ShemDon shows good promise with the vibesy Dem No Like, while Dadda shows that he is a talent to watch in the future with Rise In Love. Diplomat rounds out the project with the witty Sleep Inna Bush.
