Melloquence racks up views for 'Since You're Gone'

Dancehall artiste Melloquence has been getting positive attention on social media with his latest single, Since You're Gone, produced by European DJ Ecko.


The accompanying music video has so far received more than 100,000 views on YouTube in one week.

"I am not really surprised (by the number of views) because I have been doing a lot of work in Europe lately. I went on my first tour, opening for Elephant Man earlier this year, and then I went back on my own to do some shows of my own, so I saw where progress was being made," he said.

According to the artiste, the collaboration with DJ Ecko is similar to that of Major Lazer or David Guetta.

"The melody is very catchy and the rhythm and the song was just a perfect combination. I wrote the song by myself, but I have to give the producer credit for organising the video and getting it distributed by a major label in Europe. This is kinda like a Major Lazer and Guetta standard of work and I am really excited about this development in my career," he said.

Melloquence says he hopes the song will continue to grow in online views and eventually rise to the millions.

"I hope an ad company will pick it up next because it just sounds like commercial single. I already have an ad with Wray & Nephew for one of my songs so I kinda know when a material is marketable for corporate. So, right now, based on early indications, anything is possible," he said.

Melloquence recently launched his own record label Inna Wi Genes Records and he is also working with producers Frass Twinz music.
