Melbourne’s Dancehall duo Shottaz released Sickness
Sickness is a song performed by Melbourne’s Dancehall duo, Shottaz. The song is a call out to subliminal negativity that is a part of daily life.
The duo acknowledges microaggressions and general hate as a sickness, and whilst this could have an adverse impact on their lifestyle they choose not to pay too much attention to these behaviours.
Zodom Area are happy to share the release of Shottaz new song titled “Sickness”. The song is produced, mixed and mastered by Toronto based Kiwi producer Grafta. Having worked together on several projects in the mid-2000s, the crew is super excited to be reunited with the talented producer over a decade later.
The song has a dark hardcore dancehall backdrop, which perfectly marries with the concept of the song. Subtly pointing out general hate and other microaggressions that come as part of life, the Shottaz discuss how they regularly have to brush things off and keep moving.
This Melbourne based Afro Dancehall crew has built themselves a reputation of delivering hard-hitting lyrics combined with energetic live performances.
The Shottaz have established themselves as a fixture on the local dancehall/reggae scene, supporting touring artists such as Etana and General Levy, and have been nominated for a Music Victoria award. For more information regarding Shottaz please visit www.theshottaz.com.
Any assistance in terms of online, on-air or in-print promotion, airplay, or playlisting on radio/streaming platforms is greatly appreciated.
