Medikk, Dancehall’s Boss Bitch


Stephanie Williams, more popularly known as Medikk, is a Jamaican musician (singer/deejay), songwriter and dancehall performer.


Born October 8, 1993, Medikk is blessed with melodious vocals and potent lyrics, which is a must to break onto the dancehall scene on her island home.

Medikk‟s drive to stardom came as no surprise to persons close to her as her passion has driven her from an early age to be heavily involved in the arts.
Originally from Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica, Medikk attended Petersfield High School where she was involved in the school choir, school band and the Petersfield High Dance Troupe.

She also sang on her church‟s youth corale and has entered numerous singing competitions in Jamaica. Though she has been writing since the age of twelve, Medikk officially started her music career in July 2017 when she recorded her first single titled „Mi Ride‟ produced by M1 Syndicate Productions. Then a medical student at the University of the West Indies, she took a break from school to pursue her dreams of stardom, hence the name „Medikk‟.

She began making waves in 2018 with the release of songs such as „Proud Matey‟ produced by K Swiss Records and „Waistline‟ produced by Studio91 Records. Both singles have captured the attention of major record labels and Billboard recognised producers.

She has since released „Overcome‟ (2018) featuring dancehall deejay Shane O, „Deadly Romance‟ (2018) and „Happy‟ (2018). She is more popularly known for her single Boss Bitch which was released in early 2019 and is currently making waves with her recent release on the Knack Outt Productions Dalla Sign Riddim, „Money Feelings‟(2019).

Her success thus far can be attributed to her musical style, which encompassed a seamless blend of singing and deejaying. Accompanied by
potent self-written lyrics and a smooth like silk flow, Medikk will raise the bar with how Jamaican female artistes view their own creative ability and style. Medikk describes her musical style as a mixture between dancehall and the new international sound that is evident in today‟s musical climate.

Having musical influences like Spice, Lady Saw, Nicki Minaj and Vybz Kartel, Medikk has mastered the art of flaunting her classy yet seductive style to her own advantage.

With her musical prowess and the proverbial „pretty face, slim waist and fat ass‟, it is no wonder this sexy island gyal is one of the fastest rising Jamaican female artistes in the music industry, she just cannot be ignored.
Her mission in music is to break boundaries and build a great legacy as a female Jamaican artiste.

Medikk aims to diversify her sound and penetrate the international music scene with new collaborations, fresh tracks exploring different genres and her debut EP which is set to be released by January 2020.

She makes a point of consistently working to improve her writing, delivery and performance as she hopes to reach the heights of Barbados‟ very own Rihanna and Trinidad‟s Nicki Minaj. She admits that as an artiste she challenges herself daily with different riddims and beats to keep her motivated and ready for the challenge.

Medikk wants to take Jamaican dancehall to another level by introducing her unique sound to markets that have not fully welcomed dancehall/reggae music yet and also sees herself developing her empire through philanthropy and charity.

She aims to start a foundation for children in need. For Medikk, who lives by the words, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”, the possibilities are endless.
