Love4Music Festival 2018 - The Love 4 Music Festival is on the search to find the North of England's best homegrown music talent.

Supporting talent in the North is important to the Love 4 Music festival and championing emerging artists in Soul and Reggae music. Soul and Reggae music crosses so many sub-genres, from Ska to R&B, Neo soul to Funk you are all welcome to enter!

We are social and the competition starts online and ends on the stage at the Love 4 Music Festival with the winner performing on the same stage as international pioneers of the Soul and Reggae industry.

The best artists will be featured online and we will let the people have their say and vote for who they love and want to see perform live on the Love 4 Music Festival Main Stage on Sunday 27th May 2018 in Huddersfield.

  1. You will need to fill out the form
  2. Submit the direct links to a video of your act performing at least one song live on Instagram and YouTube.
  3. You need to use the hashtag #love4musicfest and #huddersfieldexaminer followed by the name of the song as the title of the video.

Love 4 Music Festival 2018 Terms and Conditions

The competition is free to enter.

The competition is open only to musicians and performers based in the North of England (within a 110 miles’ radius from Huddersfield) who have not signed a contract to a record company, or any contract with any third-party record label (or similar).

This restriction would not include self released material whether in the physical format or as a digital release.

Self released means recordings entirely financed by the musicians or performers with no financial assistance from any commercial organisation or relationship or an agreement with a record label or other investor but always excepting any distribution deal you might have entered into (including iTunes and/or a digital aggregator).

In the event of any query or disagreement on what constitutes a valid entry, the Festival’s decision is final. You may only enter ONCE under one name (either as a solo artiste or as part of a group). Multiple entries will be disqualified (in our sole discretion).

Entries will be accepted online from Monday 15th January 2018 until Friday 16th March. You will need to fill out the form and submit the direct links to a video of your act performing at least one song live on Instagram and YouTube.

You need to use the #love4musicfestivals #huddersfieldexaminer followed by name of the song as the title of the video. Please make sure your application is clear and complete. You cannot amend the application once it has been submitted, or submit additional songs, so please do not send additional links (or similar) to us.

We will not be able to enter into any correspondence with competition entrants. However, we may contact each competition entrant to give them updates about the various stages of the competition.

By entering the competition, you agree: Any material submitted and any consequent live performance at the Finals or at the Love 4 Music Festival 2018 may be broadcast or streamed on the radio/television/internet without further consultation.

You will be available to perform at the Love 4 Music Festival on Sunday 27th May 2018. The entry process, judging process and final decisions will follow this procedure: A team of online music judges will listen to all the entries to narrow them down to a “Love 4 your music List”.

From the “Love 4 your Music List” the Final Judging Panel will select a shortlist entrants who will be invited to the competition finals. Successful entrants will be notified. The decision of our first stage judging team and the Final Judging Panel is final.

The Competition Finals: This applies to all Finalists
All costs and expenses must be covered by the finalists.Each Finalist must work closely with the Stage Manager, meet all Health and Safety requirements, and must provide safe working equipment.

Each Finalist must not exceed the given time slot.All Finalists need to be aware that the finals may be recorded in both audio and audio visual formats and may be streamed live on. Finalists must agree that the Festival can use the recordings in all media including but not limited to television, radio and the internet without further reference to or payment to them.

The Winner:
The top 10 artists with most amount of hits on Instagram and YouTube of their video entry will go through the finals. One winner and two runners up will be chosen by the competition judges.

The Winner will be offered the opportunity to perform on the main stage at the Love 4 Music Festival 2018 on Sunday 27th May 2018, at a time, to be determined by the Festival organisers.Must agree to the normal requirements placed on performers on the main stages, namely to perform at the time notified to them (for the agreed length of time)Agree to any filming or recording as required.Work with the Stage Manager and meet all Health and Safety requirementsProvide safe working equipmentProvide one colour press photograph, and one biography (one side A4), both pre-cleared for all media uses.

The Festival will make every effort to ensure the Winner performs at Love 4 Music Festival 2018. However, the Festival may, in certain circumstances, have to cancel the performance without consulting the performer and without further liability to the performer.

Love 4 Music Festival reserves the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions in its discretion without notice.The two runner ups will be given a pair of entry tickets each.
