LA RED MÚSIKA NAMED WINNER AT THE PRESTIGIOUS 2026
INTERCONTINENTAL MUSIC AWARDS
San Juan, Puerto Rico - August 25, 2026 - La Red Músika, the award-winning gospel reggae band from San Juan, Puerto Rico, has been named a Winner at the 2026 InterContinental Music Awards (ICMA) for its recording of "El Poderoso" in the Best Production category.



Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, the InterContinental Music Awards recognizes outstanding artists from around the world. Since its founding in 2011, ICMA has honored artists from more than 100 countries and is internationally recognized for promoting artistic excellence, cultural diversity, and collaboration through music.


Founded in 1998 under the original name Filosofía, La Red Músika is one of the pioneering Spanish-language reggae bands from Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The group was founded by Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Magdiel Maldonado and Bronx, New York, native Don Altamirano, an accomplished composer, arranger, pianist, and producer.

The current lineup also features vocalist Luis Raúl Feliciano, whose dynamic performances have become an essential part of La Red Músika's signature sound.
The winning recording, "El Poderoso," is La Red Músika's interpretation of the song originally written and made popular by acclaimed songwriter Michael Rodriguez.

The band's powerful reggae arrangement and high-level production have earned significant recognition, including the Outstanding International Caribbean Recording award at the 2025 Marlin Awards.

This latest ICMA achievement further highlights the group's continued commitment to musical excellence.
"El Poderoso" was mixed by multi-Grammy Award winners Carlos Velázquez and mastered by Esteban Piñeiro.

"We are deeply honored to have won the InterContinental Music Award.

We are grateful to God for this incredible achievement and extend our heartfelt appreciation to Michael Rodriguez for writing such an inspiring song," said La Red Músika.


The group added:

"We want to congratulate all of the other nominees and winners and share this honor with our musical colleagues in Puerto Rico, Argentina, Jamaica, the United States, the United Kingdom, Latin America, and, of course, the entire Caribbean music community."


This recognition represents another important milestone in La Red Músika's musical journey and reinforces the band's mission to create powerful, purpose-driven music that connects audiences across cultures.
