Jamaican Dancehall Artiste BLASS, Collaborates With Russian Actress


As the world turns its eyes on Russia, over the country’s current dispute with Ukraine; emerging dancehall artiste BLASS, believes it is time we shift our focus to the country’s much more pleasant stories in order to avoid sensationalizing the current conflict. Stories such as, the country’s growing insatiable appetite for the Jamaican and dancehall cultures and his hot new collaboration with Russian Pop Sensation Belka.


BLASS, Belka and Jamaican-born rapper Jakal, have just completed the finishing touches to a hype new track titled “Whenever You Want”, which is a perfect blend of Dancehall, Russian Pop and Hip Hop. The track features BLASS on the intro, then opens with Jakal’s Jamaican rap that flowed smoothly into Belka’s delivery of the punchline in sultry Russian which translates to: “Whenever you want, you can get it. Whenever you want, I will be there.”

“This song will be major in Russia! It is a solid collaboration that will easily excite all the clubs across Europe,” said Yuri, Belka’s manager. Belka is a buzzing actress and singer in Russia, who is adored for her sex appeal and resemblance to the late US actress Marilyn Monroe. She currently enjoys a huge following, and has one of the most engaging Instagram accounts of any Russian entertainer.

BLASS himself is no newcomer to dancehall music. He is known for his early breakthrough collaboration with Vybz Kartel “Gal Know Fi Wine”. Since then BLASS has focused much of his energies as a ghostwriter for many local and international musicians, along with other international collaborations. He is expected to close out 2014 with numerous solo releases and prep his debut EP for early 2015.

“I want the world to quit focusing on war and destruction and refocus on fun and unity, and I am sure this track with Belka will help bring some joy to Russians, Ukranians, Jamaicans and the world over,” BLASS said.
