Is Reggae Music about the Beats or The Message?


What about Jamaica's prized music called Reggae makes you loved it so much?


Artists such as Bob Marley, Toots Hibberts and Jimmy Cliff has been credited as the leading pack who introduced Reggae music to the world, but what did the world. Was it the words or Beats that created that impact?

For some Reggae music is all about the beats, while others said its the message within the music.

I have been thinking about this for sometimes now, but still got mixed results whenever time I approached someone with the question.

Upcoming Reggae artiste Dre Island in an interview with Anthony Miller for Entertainment report said "Reggae is The Words", what do you think?

When you listen to a song, how do you classify its genre? Am going to grab the bull by the horn, in my opinion, Reggae music is first recognized by the Beats followed by the words of the song(s).
