Jamaican reggae artiste Gregory Isaacs (the cool Ruler) is dead. He was 59 years old.
Isaacs' manager Copeland Forbes confirmed that the artiste died at his home in London on October 25, 2010 following a long battle with lung cancer.

rose to international fame in the late 1970s. In his teens, Isaacs
became a veteran of the talent contests that regularly took place in
In 1968, he made his recording debut with a duet with Winston Sinclair, "Another Heartache", recorded for producer Byron Lee.
Issacs has released more than 500 albums during his career, most of which were compilations.

He was truly a star,a legend and an Icon. He will be greatly missed by the whole music fraternity.
Service for reggae star, Gregory Isaacs, will be held at the National
Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday, November 20, 2010, starting at 10:00
Viewing of his body will take place at the same venue on Friday,November 19, 2010 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Gregory died in England on October 25, 2010. His body will be flown to Jamaica on Thursday, November 11, 2010.
