First Reggae On The Beach In Tobago launched!
“Reggae On The Beach” is the first reggae concert of its kind to be held in Tobago.
Saturday night’s event at Pigeon Point Heritage Park was promoted by BWV Entertainment and was born out of the idea to infuse the sweet melodies and sultry sound of reggae music with an atmosphere that was scenic, calming, relaxed and provides a sense of “get-away”.
Organiser Ancil Thorne said “Reggae On The Beach” featured for the first time in Tobago one of the youngest and smoothest voices of reggae out of Jamaica, Romain Virgo; newest reggae sensation Chonixx, alongside the Zinc Fence band and one of the most versatile performers of all time, Tarrus Riley, alongside Black Soil band.
Also featured on the cast was UK artiste Franz Job, alongside The Country Boyz Foundation, and Positive.
The event was accentuated by Tobago’s top artistes such as Gardah Knight and provided a platform for upcoming local reggae artistes to showcase their talents.
Thorne said the proceeds of the concert will go towards the enhancement and promotion of future reggae artistes in Tobago.
