Dutch Based Singer Tasha's World to Perform at Caribbean Dreamers Live Concert Series in NY


Dreamers Live Concert Series in NY Alongside

Leon & the Peoples, Mr. Kool, British Dependency and Naila

New York, NY - Rotterdam based singer Natascha Slagtand, stage name Tasha's World, will perform alongside Leon & the Peoples, Mr. Kool, British Dependency and Naila on May 12, 2015 at the launch of Caribbean Dreamers Live concert series at Le Poison Rouge.

The live concert series showcases the unique sound and talent of artists in a live setting. With New York, 'the city that never sleeps,' as the backdrop, concertgoers are transported to the Caribbean with live unfiltered music of the tropics in the form of Reggae, Soca, Calypso and Compa among others. To catapult the experience globally, the concert will be streamed live via www.CaribbeanOneTV.com.

Originally from Surinam, South America, Tasha' musical style is a blend of an eclectic mixture of Jazz, Soul fused with elements of Hip-hop and African rhythms. However, her childhood musical memories, of artists she grew up listening such as Billy Holiday, Donny Hathaway and Quincy Jones echoes strong influences in her style and performances.

Tasha's World brings a career spanning over a decade that has provided entertainment worldwide and received numerous accolades for her outstanding work such
as the Essent Award (NL) 2002, The Silver Harp (NL) 2004 and the EMMA Award (UK) in 2003 for best World Music Production. To her credit, she has released three studio albums, toured the World with her live band and performed at renowned venues such as "London Jazz café," New York's "Sounds of Brazil," "Ahoy Rotterdam," "Asmara" Eritrea, the "North Sea Jazz festival" in the Hague, "NSJ" and "Cape Town Jazz Festival" in Cape Town South Africa.

As an established artist, Tasha has always felt compelled to share her experiences with the new generation of artists. Known for her drive and passion, she started "Harvest Me." The government funded program works with talented young artists in Holland. Tasha also serves as a board member/advisor for several foundations and Music festivals. Tasha's World is currently recording her 4th studio album slated for released late summer 2015 which will be a part of a 15 year Anniversary of Tasha's World dubbed "In Tasha's World" #ITW, coming February of 2016.
