Dj Kenroy from Hot 102 FM

DJ Kenroy

was born Kenroy Dwayne McAdams. He attended Pembroke Hall High School. He started to discover the love of music in the year 2009 during his tenure at Heart Trust NTA in Portmore where he studied Electrical Installation.

He proudly graduated in the same year and started working at HOT102fm CVMTV Communication Group where his passion for music began to grow.

Kenroy started his journey at HOT102fm as a Technical Operator. His true talent for music was discovered when he was requested to fill in a music slot in August 2009.

He wasn't trained as a Disc Jockey so with a little help from his co-worker DJ Dean who assisted in providing him with some of his own music, he was able to build on his name and also build on his own show which is called MADMIX.

MADMIX was aired on Saturdays between 7pm to 10pm and hence he became more popularly known as DJ Kenroy to his fans, co-workers and friends. DJ Kenroy has also made several appearances on Television program and interviews including “Di Wrap” on CVM TV in January 2012 where he was asked to give his views on the top 11 songs for 2011. He was also featured on LIVE at 7 as a guest on a panel discussing soca music and its impact on reggae culture.

He has also hosted Hitlist on several occasions which is also aired on CVM TV weekly. DJ Kenroy is very hardworking and dedicated in the music industry. One of his favorite quotes “black people must not suffer anymore, food affi eat.”

He believes that every young artiste who is trying to make something of themselves and to make a living through music should be given a fair chance once the lyrics is clean and fit for airplay. He has assisted in promoting a lot of new artistes through guidance, sound advice and also giving them a chance to get their first airplay without a cost on MADMIX on Hot 102. He also has a segment on his show that features a new artistes and promoting their music.

MADMIX is now aired on Friday nights between the hours of 10pm to 12am and includes a variety of great musical selections from all genres including dancehall, hip hop, r&b, alternative, rock and reggae and pop.

Kenroy brings a lot of energy, creativity and crazy vibes to his show and he hopes to continue his journey to reach the highest level and to bring positivity to the Industry. TUNE IN, LISTEN AND ENJOY THE MUSICAL JOURNEY!.
