DJ Earthpipe Sweetpotato Soundsystem - DJ Earthpipe has been a

performing DJ for more than 25 years specialising in Dancehall and roots reggae and dub bass musics.

DJ Earthpipe is looking forward to performing at the Goa Reggae Sunsplash January 2018. In Late April 2017 Earthpipe performed as part of the Barbados Reggae Festival and in August he performed at 'Back To Jungle Festival Sigiriya Sri Lanka.

In July 2016 Earthpipe performed twice in Poland at the Reggae On Festival in Czestochowa (Zlotakurka on Facebook) and at the Ostroda Reggae Festival (http://www.ostrodareggae.com).

In January 2016 Earthpipe also performed at the Sunrise Bar at the famous 'Full Moon Beach Party' at Hadd Rin on Koh Pagnan island, Thailand.

DJ Earthpipe, has promoted all things dubwize in a career already spanning 25 years that has resulted in him performing at Glastonbury Festival 4 times, Brixton Academy and Finsbury Park London. He has played at the Megadog Beach Festival & Solar Eclipse Festival in Cornwall and 4 Essential Festivals in Brighton. Earthpipe has played on West Africas biggest radio station 'Radio 100' in Banjul in Gambia to thousands of listeners alongside friend Musa Mboob the master drummer.

He has also played a New Years Eve Party in Palolem in Goa India. He has also completed a 10 date tour of France and a 4 gig tour of Poland with thanks to his friends 'Rise Up Sound' in Chestachowa. "Great big thanks to Jah Rasta for his guidance and protection. Thanks to all the Sweetpotato Crew and all those nice people who have helped me and made all these things possible. I am very fortunate. You are too many to mention you know who you are! Respect always."

Earthpipe has always had an interest in ultimate sound quality that started in his teens, spending every penny he had on his hi-fi and music and writing essays on this subject at school. 5 years of studying sound technology in the late 90's in Nottingham, and working under the watchful eye of the mighty Iration Steppas at Subdub in Leeds has made him the the Sound Boy he now is.

An earthpipe is an ancient traditional smoking device made from the earth. This smoking technique is found in Africa and is usually made in the clay found on riverbanks by moulding clay around a reed or grass stem then pulling out the reed leaving a tube under the ground. A bowl to hold the herb is made at one end and the users mouth is put to the ground to use the device.

DJ Earthpipe and The Sweetpotato Soundsystem have been performing at a monthly residency at every SUBDUB & EXODUS events held at venues in Leeds for the last 18 years.
