Dancehall Producer Roach's name lives! Widow uses label to carry on husband's dream

Sharon Samuels, widow of platinum-selling record producer Patrick 'Roach' Samuels, has launched a record label called Patron House Production, in honour of her late husband.

According to Samuels, the label was Roach's idea before he was brutally killed in 2013.

The widow says the label was registered in the United States, however, Roach passed away before he was able to sign his first artiste.

"Before my husband died, we had many plans for our future and the future of our families. The sky was no limit for us. We were about to start our journey in reaching for the stars. He decided that even though we had different production companies, we should have something together that would unite husband and wife, not mine or his, but ours. We played around with many names and he came up with Patron House Production. Patron simply meant Sheron and Patrick, as he took 'Pat' from Patrick and 'Ron' from Sheron, head and tail to form one body," She told The STAR.

Samuels reveals that she was not very functional as a result of her husband's death and was unable to launch the record label on her own until now.

"After his passing, I gave up all hope. I felt lost without him and was at a very low point
in my life. With the support of my family, good friends and the memory of mine and my husband's love for this company and music, I was brought back to reality. I have decided to move forward with the company and run it the way my husband would have. Integrity, enthusiasm, full of energy and quality production is what my husband was all about. I know that even though he's not here with me in the flesh, he's still with me in spirit and so we will continue the path to success," she said.

Sharon hopes the label will bring as much international success as Roach achieved under his partnership with Justus Arison of JA Productions. The production duo was basking in the success of the 'Overdrive' rhythm which featured a single with hip-hop heavyweight rapper Nicki Minaj.

Roach also had success as a solo producer with his 'Siren' rhythm which featured Sean Paul's platinum-selling single called Breakout.

"Look out in the months ahead. We will be bringing you international music with a twist. His hard work, perseverance, determination and goodwill have been bestowed upon me to carry on. He journeyed from, Time Travel to JA Productions, to his last calling, Patron House Production," the widow said.
