Dancehall artiste JYungg has big dreams - Hanover-born entertainer JYungg has set his sights on one day reaching the top of the Billboard charts.
The artiste, who recorded Moving Up before disappearing from the music scene three years ago, said he is focused on his lofty goal.
"It's been a long journey, a roller coaster, actually, but honestly, I'm at the best place I've ever been, mentally, as I am more focused and determined," said JYungg.
The artiste, whose given name is Ajay Edward Richard, said he gets his inspiration from heavyweights such as Sizzla, Bounty Killer, and rap artiste Jay-Z.
"I want my fans to know that I will continue to bring substance to the music and that this year, the dream has officially started. I expect that this will be a groundbreaking year," he said. "The dream is to be a Billboard chart artiste, collaborating and touring with international acts [and] promoting dancehall music."
Now with songs like Sinners Prayer, Titanic, Meaning of Love, Cream, and Rave Hard, the young artiste is convinced that the foundation has been laid for him to establish himself in the minds of fans of dancehall music globally.
"I have set the bar really high for myself, and the sky is the limit,'' he said. "It's not about the hype for me, so I shy away from anything or anyone that is not true to the music."
