Chronixx Nominated for Prime Minister Awards 2017.


Grammy nominated reggae artiste Chronixx has been shortlisted as a nominee for this year’s Prime Minister’s Youth Award for Excellence in the category of Arts and Culture.


On Sunday, State Minister in the Education, Youth and Information Ministry Floyd Green, announced the nominees via his official social media pages.

The nomination based awards, received over 200 applications with Chronixx being shortlisted among 11 other nominees in the category Arts and Culture.

Since its inception, 165 awards have been conferred.

This news follows a successful showing of the Jamaican leg of his Chronology Tour dubbed Chronixx Live in Jamaica, held over the weekend in Kingston and Montego Bay.

Introduced in 1998, the Prime Minister’s National Youth Awards for Excellence was conceptualized to recognize young Jamaicans between the ages of 15 to 29 who have excelled and contributed to national development in various areas.

The 2017 Prime Minister’s National Youth Awards for Excellence, is set for December 6 at Jamaica House after a three-year hiatus.
