Belleh Dances Onto TV Screens This Weekend

The official launch of the Belleh Music video was definitely one for the record books on Wednesday October 14, at Triple Century Sports Bar in New Kingston. The event; which kicked off at around 9pm, saw a host of dancers and artistes in attendance to give support to the new BELLEH movement that has been sweeping the streets in Jamaica.

Coined first as a slang by TV personality and artiste, Sanjay Ramanand, as he hosted the Chill Room on local talent show Digicel Rising stars; Sanjay through his label, Portland Cottage Productions, then recorded a BELLEH single with other artistes; Deep Jahi and Innovata as well as dancer Shelly Belly, who later created the BELLEH dance move.

The video for the single was shot at Shelly Belly and Bermuda Squad’s Headquarters in September and sees cameos from popular dancers and personalities showcasing their version of the BELLEH dance move.

The actual video launch event had performances from Bermuda Squad, Rifical Dancers, Chi Ching Ching, Devin Da Docta, Triple A and other Magnum Kings and Queens contestants as well as the first LIVE Performance of the BELLEH single with Sanjay, Deep Jahi, Innovata and Shelly Belly.

Sanjay took the opportunity to thank the street events; patrons, selectors and dancers alike, for the tremendous support of the single thus far and revealed that there was much more in store for the movement.

“BELLEH has taken on a life of its own and I owe it to the movement to allow it to develop to its full potential.
Many ideas and plans are being put in place to further push the slang, the dance, the single and video project worldwide” Sanjay shared

Sanjay also took the opportunity to launch the brand new BELLEH Saturdays series which begins on October 24 at Bermuda squad’s headquarters on Lyndhurst Road in Kingston. The series will feature top street selectors and sound systems such as; Boom Boom and Harry Hype, Swatch International and Stone Love.

The BELLEH T Shirt Line is also now available at locations such as D Trendz and Grandeur as well as online at kolourkonceptz.me.
