Beanca Wadada a.k.a Precious Kapachika is the fresh face of dancehall music in Malawi.
She is a full package - a superb singer, an amazing songwriter and an energetic performer.
She has stunned music listeners and show goers ever since her epic emergence in the Malawi industry in 2013. She has been captaining the dancehall arena with a great selection of music that touch on topics like: motherhood, women empowerment and positivity amongst the youth. Armed with an insatiable tenacity and a feverous drive for success, she is has transformed into an undeniable musical success.
She was born on 24th December in 1996 at St. John's Hospital in Mzuzu. She decided to venture into music to help solidify the presence of women in the industry. She set out to prove that women could achieve in music, just as much as their male counterparts.
She released her first single ‘Asamaleni’ in the year 2015. The song was produced at Red Disc studios and it encourages modern society to take care of children, owing to the fact that they are the future of the nation. In 2016, Beanca made a gigantic step in terms of music releases; the songs ‘Canal Mind’, ‘Galu Wapadzala’, ‘Working’ and ‘Ntadekha’, gained her even more exposure and radio play countrywide. She has been a mainstay on radio stations such as MBC Radio 1, MBC Radio 2, Joy Radio, Power 101, Ufulu FM and Mij FM.
Wadada is currently working on her debut album that is set to take the Malawi music landscape by storm. She has enlisted the help of many skilled artists, such as: Queen Fyah, Sylvania, Nepman, Lippy G, Catallia, Saint, Yuppie, Manton and Simba from Zimbabwe.
Beanca’s on-stage energy cannot be dismissed. She has shared the stage with international heavyweights such as Jamaica’s Busy Signal, at the 2016 Civo Stadium concert, and also Tanzania’s Diamond, at this year’s Sand Festival.
Having achieved a lot on 2016, the coming year can only get better for the singer. Beanca says a lot can be expected in terms of stage performances, music video releases and more collaborations with local and international artists.
Benaca is also an entrepreneur and has sharp business skills. When she is not in the studio recording, she can be found plying her trade at her store in Blantyre. The future seems bright for this young vocalist. She aims to bring her style and music to international platforms, so that one day we can say that one of our biggest musical exports, is none other than Beanca Wadada.
