Baby Tash gets great feedback for new single 'Step To Me'
Dancehall diva Baby Tash has stepped out in militant style on Ja Productions AfterLife rhythm with her new single Step To Me.
"The minute I heard the rhythm I knew I wanted to hit hard and attack
it like a militant girl. That's the character I wanted to take on
because the rhythm rough," she said.
Since the release of the song, Tash said the feedback has been great.
"People have been letting me know that mi song a guh hard. They
have been telling me how much mi lyrics a chop as a female and they love
how mi jus a bad-up the rhythm," she said.
She explained that fans and followers of her music have been
speculating that the song was written by producer, Roach. However, Tash said that the song was written in its entirety by her.
"The song is lyrically loaded, with tight rhymes, flows and
melodies, so much that people started speculating if is Roach wrote it.
Even comments online, saying is must Roach write it. To me, this is a
compliment because Roach is very creative with lyrics and he has written
for many artistes. But, I wrote so much lyrics I could voice three
songs," she said.
The song is currently getting rotation on FM radio and Tash
is grateful for the love it is receiving. "Crazy pull-ups it getting
when it playing and I want to big all disc jockeys and selectors who
support female artistes especially. Nuff DJs rate the song," she said.
Tash recently released a medley video for her
singles Champion Bubbler and A Di Bubble,
directed by Nordia Rose and Phatashie Entertainment.
Baby Tash 2016
The year 2016 is shaping up to be one of the most challenging years for
recording artiste Tash, as not only did the deejay lose her
grandmother during the Summer, but she also lost her house in Spanish
Town to fire last weekend.
While ruling out arson, she said her family lost almost everything during the fire.
"The fire was caused by a single candle that was lit in one of the
bedrooms during the blackout. The only thing that was saved is a chest
of drawers and a dresser.
Everything else is completely wiped out and
gone, and it was a three bedroom house. It's just the concrete structure
that is left. It's shocking to see how fire can destroy everything that
you have built in a matter of seconds," she said.
Dancehall artiste Shenseea yesterday claimed her spot among the
female dancehall royalty when she dubbed herself dancehall's 'princess'
in a post to her Instagram page. The post took on a life of its own, sparking debate about
which female dancehall artiste was deserving of the title princess,
since Spice is the queen.Read full article here
