Agent Feels Joy With New Single 'Joy'
Andre Carruthers, the US based reggae artiste known as Agent, has released a brand new single called Joy, which is expected to increase his presence on the local dancehall scene going into the Christmas season.
The single, a reggae dancehall fusion, was written by Agent himself and highlights elements of the artiste’s life growing up in a small community in Clarendon Jamaica.
“The song ‘Joy’ talks about going through struggles and poverty but still being positive and striving for better. It’s based on aspects of my past from the days I could remember with my mom struggling to make ends meet. I went through some rough times so I just write about it” Agent shared.
Produced by Running Rebels Production a label that Agent has been working with overseas for some time; as well as Troyton Music and Jay Crazie Records, ‘Joy’ benefits from experts in the industry coming together to create a song with a distinct Jamaican sound and international flavor.
Agent believes that for listeners of this single, the underlying concept of hope is what will resonate with them and hopefully inspire them as well.
“Look at it this way, what if you don't think tomorrow will be a better day? Then it might not happen. You always have to think positive and visualize where you want to be, that’s how you get there” Agent added
Agent is also looking at shooting a video for the ‘Joy’ project very soon as well as recording additional material to be released on his upcoming EP.
“Some of the material for the EP is personal pain and private, but I trust that my fans will share my pain with me.” Agent admitted
The ‘Joy’ Single is now available on all digital platforms, including ITunes, for purchase.
