Reggae Singer I Wayne"Living in Love"Reggae singer I Wayne, born Clifton Taylor in Kingston Jamaica on September 13, 1975.
Raised by his aunt and her husband Ansell Collins, a renowned keyboard player. This artist has been shaping his talent since age seven. Some of his first performances were at his former school Greater Portmore High, with a local group "Vibes Machine". The group was a mixture of singers and DJs who usually perform at popular clubs such as Cactus and the Asylum for after-work parties.
He performed solo one night after his band-mates were running late, and the great reception was his drive to perfect his solo act. It was in summer of 2004 that he became more recognized on the reggae scene in the new wave of reggae. Singer I Wayne hit number one with his single "Can't satisfy her", which was also the first reggae track by a cultural reggae artist to be added to the Hot 97 play-list. The song spent over 22 weeks on the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B Hot 100 Chart. His career has influence from Sade,
Bob Marley,
Dennis Brown, Marcia Griffiths, Beres Hammond and
Sizzla Kalonji.
November 2004, he signed a record deal with VP Records and released his debut album "Lava Ground", which hit stores in summer 2005. This album yielded two hit singles, "Can't Satisfy Her" and "Living in Love". In November 6, 2007, his release of the second album "Book of Life" pushed him to the top of the Billboard Chart in the reggae category at the number 4 spot. This roots and culture artist is lyrically and vocally gifted which will see him to many heights.
