Matthew Greenidge Papa Stop Drink, Message to all Fathers


With Father's Day right around the corner JahLight Recording Artist, Matthew Greenidge, releases the brand new ' Papa Stop Drink'; a message to Fathers all around the world. It is a topic that we dont hear frequently within Reggae music as it speaks on youths that have been raised by alcoholic parents and the impact it has on not only their present but also their future.


Track Review :[ What I really like on 'Papa Don't Drink' is how finely Greenidge breaks things down. He goes from discussing how much trouble it can bring into a family "papa stop drink and break down the door. I can't take it no more", to speaking to how much joy turning one's life around can add to it as well "as the years they pass us by, Papa stop drink and Mama stop cry". I also enjoy just how he puts it altogether - although it is a very serious topic, the song never reaches the point of becoming bleak or depressing - there's always some type of silver lining shining throughout it - Ras Achis ]
