“The Marlon Binns Story”
“The Marlon Binns story” is the title of the newly released mix tape by Alliance singer and songwriter, Marlon Binns. A deeply personal fifteen-track compilation, inspired by real life situations witnessed by Binns, is engrossed with his soulful and unique flavor.
It features dancehall icon, Bounty Killer, with a special dedication, titled, “Mama You Know.” Complied and mixed by German label, Philtunes Music, “The Marlon Binns Story,” showcases efforts from local powerhouse, Payday Music, Track House and Punch This Records.
It possesses international essence, with sprinkles of creativity from across the world, with compositions from African and European origin. According to Binns, his desire is to have listeners, “get closer to the creator, positive energy and be able to feel its reality.” The crooner describes the lyrics laid on the mix tape as, “Relatable.
You can feel the love, friendship good and bad. I share my perspective of life and express personal emotions. It’s uplifting and demonstrates why I am here today.” Being the son of a minister, Marlon Binns is of a strong spiritual background. He recently released his own rendition of, "O’ Holy Night,” perfectly timed for the upcoming Christmas season, which is now available on YouTube.
Though of a robustly religious background, he bears a strong appreciation for popular music. He elucidates high respect to dancehall legend Bounty Killer, who he credits for his accomplishments in music. He is a proud member of Killer’s, Alliance Next Generation (ANG) movement, and has merged forces with stable mates, Iyara, Patex, Teflon, Stein, Hype Type and Tenulkay.
He has already delivered sensational performances in the U.S.A., Canada, England, South Africa, Trinidad and several Caribbean islands. Binns now looks toward a 2016 Europe tour, based on the response to his recently released mix tape.
