Jared Lord Celebrating the Life of Don Dread
I first heard reggae music from the Roots Radical Connection, from Don Dread when I was a child.
I was fortunate enough to work there later, I followed him most Saturdays, and we also would deejay the reggae nights at the college bar.
Our friend Shannon would spin ska punk, I'd spin first and second wave ska, and Don would close the show with dancehall. I still think of Don a lot.
He was a great deejay, as an amazing friend. I'm a better person having known him. Much love. Jared
