Gambia: Hip-Hop Meets Reggae Dancehall

It's not the first time in the world, but the first time The Gambia two genres of music meeting together. As we all know hip-hop and reggae dancehall came from the same roots as music has no boundary.


Killer Ace being one of the finest hip-hop stars in The Gambia and Silky Criss, another reggae dancehall giant are organizing a mega event dubbed 'Hip-hop meets Dancehall' on December 12th -13th with live band performances backed by Kebba Talio and friends band Jakarlo and Brikama Jokor respectively.

Speaking at the Press Briefing, Killa Ace disclosed that they came up with the idea to show unity and one love among Gambian artistes.

"This will bring love and mutual respect to the fans, because the fans of Silky Criss, who are not feeling hip-hop will feel it now, because of the artist and likewise me.

"Let's Gambia come out in their large number and see what we have for them".

On his part, Silly Criss stated that they recently released a new single "Murda Dem" with a sick beats, which he thinks will take the hip-hop and dancehall to another level. "It will not be an easy night, because top Gambian deejays like Pisces and So Fly will also grace the event".
